Open Belote

Cards of all suits participate in the game: 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A. Contrary to the Belote Classic, this version goes with open cards. At the beginning of the round four cards of total eight are open, and the players decide the trump suit.

The trump suit selection begins with the participant, who has created the table, except for “game from 1” tables, when the suggestion of trump suit selection is offered randomly, no matter which one of the participants has created the table. He must choose the trump from all suits. If the forehand passes, the opponent takes his turn to choose. When the choice is made, the remaining 4 cards get open. If the second participant also doesn’t make a choice, the remaining cards get open in any case, and the selection goes on with open cards. The forehand has a second chance to choose the trump suit. If somehow, the forehands don’t choose the trump for the second time, the system makes the second player to make an obligatory choice.

In any case, the forehand starts the game.

Declarations are counted after the player announces about them. The announcements must be made before playing a card of the declaration. If the declaration is not announced, the points cannot be counted. During the game, there may appear several declarations, all of which count if announced. According to the Open Belote rules, all declarations of both players count despite the opponent’s declarations rank.
