Nackgammon

This game is similar to Backgammon, but differs in the initial arrangement of checkers: in each row where 5 checkers were placed, one checker is off and a row of two checkers is added on the second line.

Setup: The setup is the same as in backgammon except that one checker from each player’s six-point and mid-point are moved to the opponent’s two-point. The players start with four back checkers rather than the usual two.

Nackgammon requires more skill than regular backgammon. The games tend to be quite a bit longer because you cannot efficiently run your back checkers. It is a positional game, with more emphasis on priming and back games, and less on attacking and blitzing.

Game conventions

  • Cube for multiplying the initial stake
  • Cocs if the loser hasn’t managed to remove a stone from the chessboard and one or more of his pieces are left on the wall or in the opponent’s home, he will lose a crock and lose a tripled number of points
  • Jacoby Mars and Koks count only as a single game if neither player has offered a stake multiply during the course of the game
  • Beaver when a player is doubled, he may immediately redouble (beaver) while retaining possession of the cube. The original doubler has the option of accepting or refusing.
  • Change Dice for replacing any dice that is not favorable for you (1 or 2 dices at the same time)
  • Private Game- choosing this option nobody can watch the game in the process
  • Rating- the game result determines player ranking (in case of win it grows, in case of lost, it reduces)
